UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
Following the success of the Millennium Development Goals, around the globe, all forms of life suffer due to the man-made calamities that we are yet to overcome. The 193 countries part of the United Nations recognized the urgency and have agreed to deliver a timely response. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were created as a global request to protect the planet, and to eradicate all forms of the challenges we face as humanity. To leave Earth better than we found it, the list of what we must achieve includes:
1) No Poverty
2) Zero Hunger
3) Good Health & Well Being
4) Quality Education
5) Gender Equality
6) Clean Water & Sanitation
7) Affordable & Clean Energy
8) Decent Work & Economic Growth
9) Industry Innovation & Infrastructure
10) Reduced Inequalities
11) Sustainable Cities & Communities
12) Responsible Consumption & Production
13) Climate Action
14) Life Below Water
15) Life on Land
16) Peace, Justice, & Strong Institutions
17) Partnerships For The Goals.
The execution towards these targets are in progress, however, partnerships between people can expedite the process of people in power reaching a consensus. A change this massive can become difficult due to differences in political and economic interests. It is imperative that people and governments work together to follow through with the 17 goals to ensure global wellness. To enable people to develop their awareness, understanding and build connections to share their best practices, I’ve created SDGForum – a social network with purpose and meaning to solve the greatest challenge of humanity. These crucial issues in our society need immediate implementation, therefore, I implore you to participate in this movement via your active engagement and collaboration on sdg.edcast.com with your contributions to make our planet a lively and beautiful home for all living beings.
